I like to think about how different my future can be if I work hard enough now and if I do things daily to improve myself, my future will improve as a consequence.

I like to think of all of the things I am grateful for and all of the things I love about myself and it always makes me feel a bit more positive and brings a smile to my face and a sense of calm to my body
I like to think that since it can’t get worse I should try and do something right to prove people wrong. If I fuck up one thing I’ll improve in another area.

I think it’s thinking about a really good time or times and using the good feeling from those moments to lift you to feeling better. And sometimes you can even add an action to that by doing something that you’d do the times when you feel good–even reading motivational stuff helps to keep a more balanced way of thinking and feeling.

Those are great strategies! Actually, yesterday I woke up a little down and I put my headphones on and I’ve listened to some motivational speeches on YouTube. It did the job! 🙂
First off, I think about my breath/inner feelings and hold on to what dignity I have by relaxing myself with logic, humor, or comforting thoughts, or countering negative thoughts with.
For me – most of the time. I’m also blessed with a terrific amount of nature (feral cats, raccoons, the odd opossum, squirrels and more birds than I can name) in my yard – and tuning out people and just watching that interaction works. There are also YouTube live feed videos of the ocean that help me.

I had to write in a gratitude journal when I was at my lowest. There were some days where everything I wrote felt simply like I’m thankful for the birds and thankful I can see and hear. I basically had to remind myself to be greatful for all those things we take for granted and that, in time, helped me.
Exactly, there were some days I was like this food taste amazing. I have always tried to appreciate having food but once I started writing in the book it carried over to everything else. I could literally see all the reasons I am blessed.

I think about, “What is going on in my life right now that I don’t like?” Then I accept it and decide step by step what I want to do about it. Coming up with a plan for change puts me in a better mood.
Do you act upon that plan as well or just making it helps with the problem? Sometimes only the thought that we can do something about our problems can make them go away.
My mantra: Per Aspera ad Astra ( “through hardship to the stars”). I am not the luckiest person on earth. And I always have to work extra hard for things that other people get in a bit. I don’t mind the challenges and obstacles, but, sometimes, it would be nice to have a full week with no drama and with good news. A long time ago, when I was in high school, an iridologist looked into my eyes and said,” Per Aspera ad Astra..” YES, iridology for most people is nonsense. But, the man got me and my struggles. And, the sentence got into my soul.
I know how you feel. I had to work hard for almost everything I had in life, but I feel stronger because I managed to do them. I have lots of failures as well, but it means that I have lots of lessons too.
I think about the stars and how in the grand scheme of things I got the miracle of a chance to be here… to be present. Humbling myself by being aware of how small and insignificant I may be, no matter how big my problems might seem it makes me want to strive to become some significant in this world… why live a life any other way
“it makes me want to strive to become some significant in this world… why live a life any other way” <– I love this! Our problems are nothing compared to the problems our world faces so we can try to make it a better place.
I try to ask myself about the WHY? Am I overwhelmed feeling bad because of other people or because of myself?! And then I find a solution to get out of the hole! Sports is the best combined with music. If I am tired and feeling bad having a warm shower and reading books and listening to music is the key to overcome that mood. Sometimes it’s just necessary to let those tears happen in order to let things go. Often we are in situations where we swallow feelings down our throat. And then you see something in the outside and it’s triggers you. I had a hard time to come over the death of my grandfather alltough he is dead more then 17 years. But we had that magical connection and sometimes I need to cry if I miss his smile. Oh that was a lot I shared!
From the outside can come both good things and bad things so we can get better or worse. I guess we have to know which part of our surroundings can do good and which bad so we can choose when to go in which. It sounds like you had an awesome connection with your grandfather. I’m sure you’ve learned a lot from him!
I take responsibility for everything. As I go through my list I sit back and watch everything change. It is an alchemical experience that is truly magical.
Its hard to completely shut down a thought and so least we can do is divert our mind. I love reading and writing. So whenever I am at my worst I either write something or think about all the books that had an impact on me!!!
yup! The books that I think about during worst times are mostly YA fictional and paranormal maybe because i am a teenager and so it puts a smile on my face.

It is awesome if you can counter those negative thoughts. I strongly believe we should all do that in a way that can transform those thoughts.
I think about how things are temporary. I get my some good sleep. I then face another day with a clearer and peaceful mind.
