Stephen King is one of the most known writers out there. Many of his writings have been picked up and transformed into films or TV series. Besides his writings, I’m fascinated about his ideas about what can we do to get better.
As you’ll see in the below video, Mr. King has a strong belief that we need to enjoy whatever we do in order to become better at it. I believe it’s not mandatory to love something to become better at it, but it will surely shorten the time because when we love something, we would want to spend more and more time with it.
Of course, he talks about rejection as well as being part of the process. I think that rejection is so frightening because it can shatter the opinion we have about ourselves. This happens mainly because the opinion we formed about ourselves is not solid. This is why I say we need to understand ourselves better. When we know our strengths and our weaknesses, we won’t be surprised when someone else points one out and also we would know if and when others are wrong.
You can find below a video made by Evan Carmichael with his view about Top 10 Rules for Success that Stephen King applies in his life.
I think that this is the toughest choice so far because I love all those rules. I’ll go with something different this time so I’ll pick rule #9 (Pass something on) because I believe we need to remember we’re not alone on this Earth and together we are stronger. What’s your opinion about these rules? What’s your favorite?
