We all love inspiring quotes and I believe that on Mondays we need it the most so I made a short list with some quotes I find inspiring.

“Don’t wait for the right opportunity. Create it.” – George Bernard Shaw

“When you feel like quitting, think about why you started.” – Another unknown dude or dudette

“Do one thing every day that scares you.” – Eleanor Roosevelt

“You don’t have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great.” – Zig Ziglar

  1. Needed to hear #1 on that list today, plus “When you feel like quitting, think about why you started.”  – too much hard work for no results lately, motivational quotes can help to give a little push when things get rough.

  2. I love the one by Oscar Wilde. Not just because I love the man. I have always chosen to do things in life that were not considered conventional either by my family or the society. But I stood firm by my choices and i can tell you it has not been an easy ride but I would not choose to be anybody else. It is a blessing to be born ME and I am not about to lose this divine Grace for anything else.

  3. On this particular list, my favorite is the Oscar Wilde. Here’s why, if you’re not yourself, nothing else truly matters. None of the hard work means anything if you’re doing it for the ‘wrong’ reasons. Be yourself first and foremost, every single thing must begin there.

    1. I totally agree with you! This is the reason I believe we need to have a better understanding of ourselves so we can choose our path accordingly.

      1. Amen to that!
The motivation to do all those things must be pure. Without truly knowing and being yourself, well, you’ll never get where you’re meant to be, no matter how hard you work.

  4. “Your time is limited, don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma, which is living the result of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of other’s opinion drown your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition, they somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary” Steve Jobs

  5. “When you feel like quitting, remember why you started.”

I do however disagree with “Don’t stop when you’re tired, stop when you’re done.” If we continue to work when we’re tired, we more than likely fail to give justice to the project we’re working on. When we are too tired to do our best work, we can make mistakes. This will either result in a subpar result or cause us to have to do parts of it over if we desire that the results reflect our best work. This is inefficient and causes the project to take longer than it needs to if we had done it right the first time. So, the question is, “Do you want to get it done and over or done and done well?”

    1. Very well put! When I first saw that second quote you mentioned, I thought about long term projects that can make us feel exhausted along the way and that we shouldn’t quit because of that.

  6. I am so thankful you posted these. I needed to read each one.
“Great things never came from comfort zones.” – Third unknown dude or dudette
This one is my favorite. I’ve been getting out of my comfort zone for as long as I can remember. It sucks.
Today is a new kind of discomfort but necessary for a better way of living.

    1. That’s awesome! I’m actually thinking about making some badges with this kind of quotes so people can surround themselves with motivation.

  7. I love the one by Oscar Wilde! I immediately decided it was my favorite, and then I saw your question at the end asking which one is our favorite! Which made me smile. And then I smiled even more reading through the comments and seeing that by far, it was the most picked one. This really speaks to how vitally important this message is, and how much we each need to hear it. There really is only one you!

    1. I totally agree with you! And I think we need to hear it more and more often so it can really stick with us. Maybe it will give us the strength to do what we want to do and what we need to do. Maybe it can help us find ourselves.
