There is no success without failure – Video

This big ball we’re living on is moving forward and it’s Monday again. Maybe the perfect time to start something new? Or maybe not perfect, but definitely the time because the ball is not stopping and we’re not going to get this time back.

When my alarm went off this morning my brain tried to stop me from getting up. It tried to hold me down with thoughts like “Why are you doing this? You’re just a random dude with a random computer writing horrible random sh*t. Nobody cares! This world is too big for you to make a change so you’ll probably fail” and all because it was nice and cosy in bed. Then I started to wonder that if the world is so big and I am so small, why should anyone care about this? But the funny thing is that this goes both ways. It goes for both the good and for the bad so if nobody cares about the good, why should anybody care about the bad? Nobody cares if I fail except for myself and I know that failure is part of the process so I need to do it anyway. Thus, I woke up.

Someone from the video below said that we only hear, embrace and appreciate the failure some “successful” people have after they managed to get successful. We can connect the dots when we look behind and we do it too rare when we look forward because we cannot really know which thing leads us where. We can only assume based on what we know now and our assumptions are not that precise.

Most of these people talk about the same thing wrapped up in different words, but the most I love is Kevin Hart’s examples about his failures when he was 22. How many of us would have been so tough to go through something like that and still move forward?

What failure you need to experience so you can move forward?

  1. I haven’t watched the video. I just respond by the spur of my pants and just go go go! I like to react and respond in complete ignorance so that way I don’t second guess myself. But I totally say that up front so that way I’m also not reprimanded for my apparent ignorance.
I know objectively that I will fail no matter what I do, so I actively tell myself that none of it matters. That I don’t matter. That it doesn’t matter Whatever the hell I do Because no one gives a shit. And by actively acknowledging that, I can just move forward with my day without fear of blow back. If I know I’m going to fail and that no one cares, then I can just fail spectacularly and have a nice little legacy of a story to tell. Lol

      1. Yep… soooooooooo no more whining, start the climbing, quit feeling low, see how high you can go… 🙂

  2. Relationships, maybe. I suck at relationships. Maybe if I fail often enough, I’ll eventually figure out how to make one work.

On a side note, those thoughts you had when you woke up are not true….you and this blog have made a big difference to me…I come here every day because it helps me to gain perspective and clarity, and your replies are always helpful. You absolutely can make a difference and help to change things for people!

    1. Thank you so much for your kind words! If those thoughts ever appear again, I’ll just argue with what you just said 🙂

  3. Failed in love. Failed in career. Failed in killing myself too. But here I am, smiling brightly on a Monday! Looking forward to all the things Life is going to be kind enough to humour me with!! I will fail again. I will try again. The cycle goes on.

  4. Also want to add that I care! In a matter of a month since I began following you, your daily questions have been like a therapist to me. I understand myself a bit more clearly than before and it’s only thanks to you. So yes, you can and you are already changing the world. Thank you!!

    1. Wow! Thank you so much for this! I need to print these comments to see them just in case the negative thoughts ever come again. Thank you very much!

  5. I get up every morning and I live life, the only way I would fail is if I stayed in bed… 🙂

“Every morning your have two choices: continue to sleep with your dreams, or wake up and chase them.”

    1. I love this quote! Would you like to be my “quotes dealer”? I plan to add a sidebar section with a daily quote 🙂

      1. Well, you can use any quote that I happen to post on your site, but I am not very good a dealing, that is why I never win playing solitaire… 🙂 so I will have to respectfully decline.. 🙂

      2. Now, I am not trying to get you to visit my site, but if you are looking for quotes I am always posting quotes on my site.. perhaps you can find one that floats your boat… 🙂

  6. According to me, this was very helpful as the way you’ve explained is very easy to understand and also ykw I feel that failure is the best advice as it gives us the accurate parameters to why we failed. Don’t you feel so?
I’ve also mentioned about how failure is positive and how one can easily rise from failure. Do mention your views on it as I feel it’ll help almost everyone. Check it out at: http://thesoultalks10.com/failure-is-very-positive-take-a-look/

  7. I just started blogging because I have read blogs that have changed my life, but I have realized that often times I don’t write because I feel that my post wont make a difference. I loved this topic of success and what they said in the video that those that have been successful have failed more than we have tried. It sparked a flame in me not to fear, but to just go forward! Thanks for sharing your comments and the video! I’m gonna go find success on the path of failure! 😀
