Have you ever wondered how other people look back at their lives? Have you ever thought about what they remember the most about their past? What stories they have and want to share? What are they the most proud of?

   Each life is an adventure, but Reg and Sue’s life is one of the greatest adventures I’ve ever encountered. Their book Camino Sunrise-Walking With My Shadows: One reluctant pilgrim packs a weighty load on a 500-mile path is a memoire about a trip they had back in the days, but it is not an ordinary trip. It has love, friends, pain, strangers, miles and, of course, backpacks.

   Since each story has some wisdom within and this book makes no exception. We can see how physical obstacles are important, but our mind can be the real blocker. Reg and his wife Sue managed to help each other to get through those mental blockers so they can push forward despite their physical obstacles (a broken leg is usually a blocker for walking).

   When we’re alone, we’re weaker. We can easily put ourselves down and stay there. But when we have our friends and family along, we can get through anything. The book shows how with humor and tears, an adventure is created. The darkness comes and it tries to poison our mind and it succeeds from time to time, but that’s not the end. The fear will come and it will decide our path from time to time, but it doesn’t have to decide everything. This book shows a continuous transformation from a tough childhood to a peaceful life.
