Here’s a say about any country in the world that is, ‘The youth is the future of the country’ and it is true undoubtedly.
But if the youth of any particular state of any particular country has no future…….
Then what ?…
The say is true also for any particular state.
If the above scenario becomes the reality of any certain state, then certainly that state has no future. Am I right ??…. Hopefully Yes.
Today I am discussing such kind of state that really has this scenario. I’m talking about a north Indian state, Punjab.
Not all the youngsters,..but most of them are picturing the same condition as described above. We can say that they have just started to change the future of the state. This distinctive youth only stuck up to one thing. One exam,… I should say. That exam is for testing the English language level of any person. The name of the exam is IELTS(International English Language Testing System). This exam is necessary to clear if you want to study in any other country.
But…the problem that has been created is the students do this exam not to study, but to get the Permanent Residency of another country. The popular countries are Canada, Australia, New Zealand, England and some other. The USA is less popular in the queue.
Let’s see what a particular student do to reach this goal!……
At first, he finishes his secondary education in the school with impressive marks. After this step, he takes admission in any IELTS center and clears it with a good number. (6.0 or above out of 9.0). Then he applies for the offer letter of any college or university of that certain country which he chose. Next, he applies his file through any agent or study visa expert to the selected college or university. Here his show off work starts……. He pretends to the college that he really wants to study in their college, but in reality, this isn’t the case. That’s different…….He only wants to get the Permanent Residency of the country. And for that purpose, he can do anything !…
In the study package, he has to appear in college for 2 days or 4 days per week (depending on the selected course) and has the work permit of 20 hours per week normally…..But the youngster does work more than studies because he only wants money……He does work for more hours than allowed.
Now here the questions arise,
WHERE ARE THE DREAMS?
WHO FOLLOW THE DREAMS?
WAS THIS HIS DREAM, TO WORK AS A LABOURER IN FOREIGN COUNTRIES?
TO DO ILLEGAL JOBS?
What are the answers to these questions ??…..
When the student chooses his course in the college, where his sense gone?
Don’t he think about his dreams or interests ??..
Probably No. At least not this state’s student.
The whole world says that everyone has his own dreams and aims. But what would you say about this kind of youth, who only want to become the Servants of foreign people and just want to earn and get the PR of that country?…
This is not the story of one student or youngster, there are millions in the state who have already done this, who are doing, and the upcoming ones will do the same. Even the 10th standard school students have already planned their future like this.
Then, who will stay in the country?
In India?…
The newcomers just want to settle in other countries with their families and bring their next generations in the western culture. According to a newspaper article, if it happens continuously, then the population of the whole state will be declined to less than half of current by the year 2030.
We know that everyone has a talent and has the ability to do something. But the students aren’t understanding this. Instead, they are completely ignoring their talents and just want to live this kind of life… The Scullery Life.
Now the question is, Why they are doing so?
I will discuss this question in my next blog and try to find out the answer.

There will come a tipping point, when the skills learned in the “dream countries” will be applied to the serious matters close to home. Places which have experienced such a phenomenon are Haiti, Mexico and even Zimbabwe.

I see. It is a serious issue, when one disassociates self from the land of one’s birth. We actually do have some here, who disrespect the name of their country. They say it is a “First Amendment” (Freedom of speech) right, but I sense such people don’t even respect themselves.
That’s true…. It’s despicable…
This is a serious problem. Out of 70 students in our class twelve, only 6-7 (including me😀)are here and all other went to Canada or Australia.
Problem is that they are going only for PR not study..

Yeah…. That’s why people putting pressure on me to go outside as well….
If everybody will go, how will we improve. People just complaint but are not ready to do anything. I will do anything small but will be happy that I did it for my country.

The mass exodus really doesn’t seem any different than when the youth leave the small towns and they die because they are gone.. right down the street from me where my grandma used to live thirty years ago a giant chuck of the kids would graduated and leave for the bigger city. The majority of people left were the elderly and the foreigners. The only reason the town is coming back now is because the large city has been engulfed with so many that the overflow had to move there.
I would absolutely take off to another country too. I hopped towns long ago because I wanted a better life. They are leaving because they see it’s better over there. If you want the kids to stay then you have to make the place desirable. Even then there is no guarantee because we were all raised on movies and shows that talk about those people who never leave their little town and never live a day in their lives and they always regret it.
I’m guessing they don’t want to be their parents (I’m hearing that Varsity Blues speech) sometimes it’s better to go off and see what is out there instead of staying in the little pond and secretly wishing life was more.
I appreciate your long lasting comment. And you’re right from your perspective. But it’s not really the story here…. You picked up the outer point just because you don’t know what’s the real matter with this state. And also for me, it’s really really hard to explain every single thing about the state and people.

I think there’s a certain dream naivete in presuming that going to another country will solve your ills. On the other hand, I would love to move to a different (smaller) city, not to “fix” my problems, but to minimize how overwhelming this place can be. Is it the same thing? Possibly.

But I’m laughing on the people living here… They’re going. Okay, they are going…..
But, they’re also disrespecting and insulting the country before Foreigners… Now this thing is obviously not pleasant, don’t you think??!…
I’m dead smack in the middle here on this. I can understand going to another country if you feel that is the quick answer – it isn’t. I can also understand going to another country *for a time* to amass knowledge, secure finances for home, to get things that aren’t readily available. I see both here.
I see a number of people here from various countries around the world who are incredibly proud of their homes, their cultures and their backgrounds. I don’t think it’s easy for them to walk away from that history. It would be nice if more people returned “home” to rebuild community.

I don’t know what’s wrong with the people here.
You might be heard about Punjabi Culture, a part of Indian culture. It’s world famous and the other countries’ people respect it a lot…….
But the community itself don’t.
They actually only SHOW OFF to the other people that they love their culture and country on some occasions where they could feel some proud and Ego that they have Something,…………. Yeah they have..
