Why are people more vocal about their hatred of cats than they are about their hatred for dogs? I know it’s hard to believe that a person couldn’t like dogs, but I’ve met a few and they leave me perplexed as well.
I’m an animal person. I love all animals, probably more than I like most people.

I think it’s because people are more apt to fear dogs than hate them. Dogs make us feel good about ourselves whereas cats show us the reality of our relevance in the world. Very uncomfortable creatures.
That’s because our limbic system (the one responsible with our feelings) has little to no connection with our prefrontal cortex (the rational brain). It’s hard to put feelings into words and it takes lots of practice to get good at it…
