I make it a habit to try to have those a few days a month, today happens to be one of those. I am curled up reading all day, having food delivered, husband is at a hockey game. Life is good.
Fortunately fairly recent for me…having been out of work for two months, but being able to kick back, and let me mind rest was in order. I had to force it, but I had such a day and loved it.
I ask my Self…what would I do if I was on vacation right now?…and I do it.
The day you posted the question….I spent the entire day with a Dear Friend…6 of those hours in silence at a Scandinave Spa. 🙂
Been busy staring new chapters of my life.. as Jimmy Buffet said “Oh, the yesterdays are over my shoulder, So I can’t look back for too long
There’s just too much to see waiting in front of me… 🙂
Hmm… does two months without internet and cellphone on top of a mountain count as totally relaxing, even when work is involved? Yes. Yes, I think it does. When do I get to do it again.
How about walking 12-14 miles a day while doing field research? Maybe not to some, but when it’s just me and nature with no cellphones and digital interference, I find that it’s incredibly relaxing.
The ironic thing is, I complain about social media on social media. It’s a horrible worldwide addiction. People don’t talk face-to-face anymore. People like Zuckerberg have figured out a way to keep us constantly attached to an electronic tit. Even the game apps on our phone. They fulfill our percieved need to swipe and click. It’s an addiction. Any opportunity to get away from it is like an awakening.
I think it’s a matter of asking for help, something I struggle with.

Why not?
There just always seem to be something to do sometime in the day.
I’m actually really trying to think and I can’t think of one! Maybe once I graduate Haha
Ok, but please be careful and have a look at your energy level. Don’t let it drop below the line.
Definitely keeping an eye out! Thank you!

Nice wording! I totally agree with you! What do you do to relax?

It’s been so long. I can’t seem to remember…
How bad do you feel the need of having one?
I would die for one right now!
Yesterday
Very nice! What did you do to relax?
I like to read. My current book is Mythos by Stephen fry. I posted about it previously.
Luckily just last weekend, my husband and I had two nights away for our 10 year anniversary in a beautiful motel by the sea 🙂
Oh, that’s awesome! I hope you feel now more energized than ever!
The day I was born… 🙂
And I guess that was enough, right? 🙂

Idk
How would such a day look like for you?
Never.

It’s interesting you mention again the digital devices. It seem they stress you quite a bit.

It’s been awhile and my body feels it.
What changes can you do to squeeze such a day in?
I think it’s a matter of asking for help, something I struggle with.
