You have to keep your eyes on the prize. You have to know that the journey is an important part of the outcome. You must believe that if you really want whatever it is you are working toward, you must experience the journey.
Read, read, read. And if that fails, watch a good show or movie for inspiration. If the inspiration well goes dry for me, then I am totally screwed, so I constantly read or watch things.

Set minor goals, lots of little milestones to reach for.
The end goal can be very daunting, and that can kill motivation, in my experience, so little goals along the way are the key.
When I start to lose inspiration when doing a project, I keep my motivation by thinking of how great the end result will look, and by keeping notes on what to do next.
in my line of work i remember that any project, good or bad, is moving me forward and making me better. i lose motivation when something doesn’t go my way but then remember, everything has a process so trust it !!
It reading the other comments until after I write, so I apologize if this is redundant. But for me, visualizing the finished outcome and using it to fuel my drive. Also, I tend to focus on several things I enjoy about the project; it’s meditative qualities; the value of the skill; things like that. But if you put me in a room and assign me projects that I can not be spiritually attached to, forget it. You will get no projects complete from me. Just how i am.

I think that keeping the eyes on the prize is the most helpful advice someone can have… there is no other way…

Reminding myself of the end goal. Giving myself permission to take a break if that’s appropriate. Mostly, being stubborn does it for me.

no!! it took a lot of failed projects to understand that it’s a way of growing, it’s a mental exercise for sure lol
I look at my son and realize that diapers and baby food don’t buy themselves.

So you need to connect with the projects you’re working on. I think that’s the solution for completing projects the best you can 🙂
Hmm, motivational for me, yes. I tend to watch a lot of horror and thrillers. That’s inspiration for me.
