I know this is not my best title, but it does the job! So… how hopeful is Hope? No, Hope is not a person, it’s a feeling. The feeling that things will be great someday. Here’s the general opinion about hope:
“Hope is an optimistic state of mind that is based on an expectation of positive outcomes with respect to events and circumstances in one’s life or the world at large. As a verb, its definitions include: ‘expect with confidence’ and ‘to cherish a desire with anticipation.’” – Wikipedia
In my own experience, if there is no hope, there is no life. Without hope, I’m on the highway to hell with no desire of turning back. Without hope, I feel nothing but emptiness. Without hope, I wish to live no more. Therefore, for me, hope is a big deal. It keeps my flashlight on throughout the path I’ve somehow set in life (or it was set for me by higher powers).
I must say, hope is not required to get sh*t done, but it makes that sh*t enjoyable. It gives a reason to everything and without a reason, there is no desire. So is it mandatory? Hell no! but is it helpful, ABSO-F*CKIN’-LOUTELY!
I fill my hope tank when I have a plan in life. A good plan is all I need to keep going regardless the difficulty of the tasks. However, there are times when the plan is foggy and I cannot see it and when that happens, my hope is gone.

and when things do not go as per the plan, then anxiety, frustration, envy, hate, despair… start the cycle again…

What fills my Hope Tank is usually reading or watching a well-crafted piece of fiction. I get so inspired by characters, and even by the very act of creating. How magical! It reminds me that life is short. Why not take a chance and try to change things for the better? Great post. 🕊

Looking at potential, from a realistic standpoint. I can buy a lottery ticket and “hope” to win a jackpot, but that isn’t the same as the hope that keeps you going through the dark hours. Spending time with loved ones, having unanticipated pleasant encounters, and positive feedback all help me.
