  1. Finding the strength to carry on. It is easy to quit or question yourself when things get tough but it is quite another to dig deep, ride the storm and finish triumphant

  2. Writing a book! I didn’t know I could do it (although I didn’t do it alone – God was writing with me the whole time.) Now, I feel like a whole new world has opened up for me. Who knew?

  3. Is it pathetic of me to say that I don’t have any such achievement? I have achieved many things in life, but they have been at the cost of something else. I seem to get reminded of the losses every time I think of my achievements.
I think I need to work on my attitude here…

  4. Potty training my two year old son back in the day (he’s 16 now). That, and helping him out when he was in a jam with his exams last year (it worked out all right in the end and he’ll always have those qualifications now!)

  5. Asking out the woman who would then become the love of my life. I’d only met her a couple of times before and asked her out via FB Messenger as I didn’t see her regularly. We arranged to meet up after finding our calendars conflicted, but we persevered and this will be our third year together.

  6. Running one of the most successful voter registration offices in the nation in 2008, occupying Wall Street in 2011, and giving up all the political brewha to go into pretirement in Florida at the ripe old age of 32. Also giving up drugs and nicotine and abusive relationships!

    1. So hard! I have one son with autism, and while I’ve certainly learned and grown from being his mom, it’s often been immensely challenging. And you did it for two kids on the spectrum, wow!
