In the midst of a time where hope is hard to find, I want to take a moment to share something on my mind. Although fear and worry seem to be spreading like wildfire, hope and positivity catch on just as fast. I choose to spread light rather than to focus on things I can’t control.
My work sent us an email today with an inspirational message and a few powerful videos to encourage hope. One song really resonated with me, “Muskurayega India” which means “India will smile.” Music finds a way to connect us through the passion and conviction of the singer’s voice. There’s nothing quite like finding a song you feel you can really connect with.
I am sharing this video with you because it filled me with an overwhelming sentiment of hope, and that we’re all in this together. As hard as it can be sometimes, we’re going to get through this together. It’s okay to not be okay, and know that you’re not alone. I hope this video brings you as much inspiration as it brought me.
Has anything particularly brought you a sense of hope for the future during these tough times? Share it below with myself and others and we feed off each other’s optimism ๐ Namaste!

Well full marks for being clear and direct…unlike us in the UK with Boris. ๐
Well thank you and I’m hoping for all my friends in the UK to pull through!
Beautiful people. So many problems, so much optimism, so much hope.
So much light and inspiration!
Thank you for sharing this, and your thoughts. Oddly enough, I do believe that this moment so full of grief, fear and uncertainty is at the same time one of the moments of greatest hope in a collective sense that I can remember in my life. The awareness of us all being truly together in our fragility, the awareness of the pain and vulnerabiity of us all, will I hope, and believe, lead us into a better, kinder world. We are learning so much during this time, and the true weight of that learning will be manifest and enduring.
Hi Adriana, thank you for reading and for sharing your thoughts! I agree, although the circumstances are painful, I believe we will all be able to take away something very positive from this. A sense of unity, hope, and working towards a better future for everyone. Best, <3E
I agree, Diacenzio, but it all depends on how we get together to make things better. I’m sure Amazon executives and other such businesses are licking their lips, intent on turning as much of the workforce into warehouse slaves and the population into passive consumers who sit at home ordering online. It could go either way, depending on how much we work together.
I know. It’s up to us, there lies the challenge!
I’m choosing to see the light in this situation.
Yes, good idea! The improvement in air quality and the effect on nature is something to appreciate too.
Yes thatโs one beautiful benefit weโve seen already!
Ellie, it’s great people are drawing comfort from that video. It’s a shame that it features/promotes by association, President Modi, who is a right wing Trump ally who has handled the pandemic badly.
Regardless of political association, it’s moving how the people in the video and of the country and world it represents are choosing to see the positive and spread hope rather than fear and isolation. All of this independent of political persuasion.
Hi Ellie, I understand but, unfortunately, by featuring a repressive leader so prominently who has mishandled the pandemic, it becomes politicised, in my opinion. Also, I don’t think that we can saw a small handful of singers are representative of the country.
It is an uplifting and nicely made music video, though.
A sample will never fully represent the whole, that’s why it’s called a representation; there are parts inherently left out. But the part that it’s uplifting is the whole point of this video and my post, and I hope that’s what you have taken away from it. There will always be something negative if you look for it.
Thank you for sharing Ellieejay! Think positive, and positivity will come! Everyday, my work sends a motivational message to all employees – some to make us laugh and some to make us determined – to keep hope and positivity alive. Though sorrow can grow like a weed in all of us, happiness will always blossom in us. Be well and be safe &healthy!
Hi Papa Hannah, thank you for reading and sharing your thoughts! I love that your work also sends you something motivational or lighthearted every day-it really does make a difference! Thank you to continue to spread light ๐ Wishing you the best! <3E
Wonderful message and very inspiring. Thanks for sharing this video.
Thank you Norm, I’m glad you found it inspiring ๐ Have a great week!
This video is filled with smiles and hope. Made me cry. I too am inspired and hopeful each day.
I start with a daily meditation specifically designed for hope in uncertain times.
I am fortunate to be surrounded by nature …. trees, tall grasses, violets, springtime crops being planted, buds on the flowering trees, rain to inspire growth in all. A recent hike gave me views of a turkey, a raccoon and two deer.
We refer to the benefits of walking through what Iโve just described as Nature Rx. First hand experience surrounded by the differing heights of the grasses and plants and trees provides benefits – please join me in experiencing Nature Rx daily if you are able to.
Well at least they were happy tears ๐ I love how you have found peace and joy in nature, tying us back to the very beginnings of our kind. I need my daily dose of nature too and always return feelings more inspired and hopeful than before. You have a great routine, keep pushing forward! <3E
Oh … and now Iโd like to visit India !! When the time is right !!! ๐ฎ๐ณ๐
Me too!! We have to plan something ๐

Its really heartening to know that this video is giving so much to the viewers & yes, the way you expressed your views towards it creates great interest about it before actually watching it. Loved your style of writing. Keep smiling.
Hi Pushkar, I’m quite honored but certainly no need to thank me! It’s a duty and a privilege I feel to spread something that brought me happiness with others ๐ I do appreciate your compliments on my writing, thank you very much ๐ Namaste and keep smiling ๐ <3E
Simply awesome, your humility made my morning a special one. Keeping smiling and keep inspiring through your writing. Namaste๐
Inspiring people was an auxiliary goal I had when creating my blog, moreover I wanted to simply help people look at things differently, and it is one of the most fulfilling things I have done for people to say I have inspired them. Thank you for making my night (it’s still night here in the US :). )
Hello,
I have shared this article on my website & facebook page.
Hi again, thank you so much! It’s truly an honor and I feel thankful to add some light to both of our communities ๐ Have a great weekend!
No matter how worst we face… Somehow we will always manage to find a way to be optimistic
This is such a beautiful and strong thought. Indeed, it is the epitome of the evolution of humanity and how we’ve managed to succeed throughout history over thousands of years. Thank you so much for sharing ๐
Thank you too for this post!
Great to hear that the power of music can bind people in such distressing times. Happy you shared my favourite song. Love from India.
Indeed, it really helps us to open our eyes and hearts to realize we are all experiencing similar things, no matter how different our stories might be. Thank you for reading and wishing you the best! <3E from Utah.
Invigorated so shared this – thank you. Stay safe, sensible, and inspired.
Thank you so much for reading and I’m honored you shared my post with your community as well. Peace and blessings ๐ <3E
A big thank you from me and my country. India is not only trying to help the villagers (economically) and helping migrants to get back to their homes, safely …but also, sharing the resources with other countries to fight covid-19. Definitely all of us are going through tough times but we know we will make it to the other side of the storm, where the sun will shine brighter. Until then, we have to keep up hope and keep smiling.
Hi Nitya! I am humbled but no need to thank me! I feel it’s my duty and moreover privilege to share something that brought me happiness with others. Beautiful words you’ve put together, these are definitely tough times but that sort of hope and optimism will ensure a brighter future ahead for all. Thank you for sharing and namaste ๐ <3E
Neat video. But I am against this idea of being treated as a dim-wit. Show him a happy video and he will stop complaining for a week, kind of stuff. Companies and countries seem to be making and releasing these videos rapidly. Just saw something from Nike. Another from Coke. In fact, so much so that my latest post is on the subject.
It is propaganda, of course. Well made, fun and uplifting but distorting reality for promotional purposes.
What advertisement these days doesn’t distort reality for promotional purposes? That’s the whole point. This video is promoting hope, it’s not taking away from the gravity of the virus or that this isn’t a serious matter. It’s inspirational and if you can’t see it that way you should gain some perspective on what really matters.
I’m glad you recognise that it is an advertisement. What really matters is alleviating people’s suffering and making things better, in my opinion. President Modi, who is celebrated in that video, gave India a few hours to prepare for lockdown. Migrants in cities found themselves with no jobs, no shelter and no transport to get to their home villages and harassed by police enforcing the lockdown. A 12 year-old girl died, in April, after 3 days walking to return to her home village. A promotional video that distorts the reality of people’s mistreatment and abuse by government is not harmless inspiration but, in fact, malicious and manipulative.
If a number of wealthy US singers sang a song of hope from their luxury apartments, introduced and featuring Donald Trump in the music video, would you present it as inspirational? I think most would say that it was cynical and distorting propaganda, no matter how good the song and the filmwork is.
I’m super proud.
It’s beautiful isn’t it ๐

Ya, a lovely song, thnx to share this lovely post.
This song resonates so much with us during these difficult. This true representation of how we are in this together
Very true. And aptly described. We will smile again!
Yes we will!! Sending smiles, light+love from me in Utah to you wherever that may be! <3E
Beautiful song, thank you for sharing. I never noticed this.
Thanks Paul ๐ I’m glad you liked it!
It’s great to hear that the song has affected people so much and you liked it. That’s how it is in India. For us our neighbours are more than our family and we celebrate every festival together. In India every day is a festival because of the diversity. But we’re not able to come out and celebrate together. But I’m sure we will someday. I’m so happy you like India, you should visit India sometime after everything is alright again. I’m sure the Indians will welcome you with warmth!!๐
Thank you Gauri ๐ India sounds like a wonderful place and I can’t wait to visit once everything clears up again. Namaste ๐ <3E
