There are no shortcuts and it is not a magic trick. Here are 5 powerful rituals that Robin suggests you should incorporate into your life starting today in case you have been questioning How To Be Successful and Happy?
1. The Ritual Of Early Rising
The idea behind this is to get a head start while the rest of the world is still sleeping. By the time that they get up, you would have already kick started your day!
The more important question however is how to spend these early morning hours to really make a big impact on your day? Robin suggests to at least incorporate these two things.
(i) Firstly, you need to sweat. Hit the gym. Go for a run. Or simply do a few body-weight exercises in your room to get the heart rate up and get yourself sweating.
The benefits of an early morning exercise routine are not only limited to maintaining a good physical shape. It can repair brain cells from stress (via a protein released in the brain called brain-like neurotrophic factor or BLNF), and boost your metabolic rate to give you the energy you need to take on the challenges of the day.
“He who sweats more in training, bleeds less in battle.” —Spartan Warrior Creed
(ii) Secondly, take the time to journal. It’s a simple yet powerful exercise that helps with self reflection to get a crystal clear view of your values, your goals, and your soul’s deepest calling. To quote Robin, “awareness is the beginning of transformation.” Details here: https://reasonstolivefor.com/3-good-things/
2. The Ritual Of Strategic Time-Blocking
We are all looking for ways to be more productive with our time. The idea of strategic time-blocking can really help us to boost productivity.
The idea is simple. Before the week even starts, you need to set a time for each activity along with a deadline.
This is so much more than your typical “to-do list” because you are consciously committing to a specific time to start a task, and a specific duration of time to complete it.
Need to have a zoom meeting with your team at work? Schedule a time-block.
Planning to spend some time alone for more creative projects? Schedule a time-block.
Want to catch up with an old friend? Schedule a time-block.
The idea is to be as detailed as possible, and to do this for every day of the week. By the end of the exercise, you’ll have what Robin calls a “blueprint for a beautiful week.”
“The things that you schedule are the things that get done.”– Robin Sharma
Do not limit time-blocking to just work-related activities. Apply this idea to every part of your life. It can be dedicated time for a movie night out with friends. Or quality time with your family. Or even some alone time in quiet solitude for self reflection.
3. The Ritual Of Over-Delivering
We live in a society where “going the extra mile” seems to be such a rare occurrence.
Whether you’re at your favorite restaurant or at a clothing store or doing business with any organization, you’ll usually get a level of service that is expected. But rarely ever more.
And although this may not seem like a positive thing, it actually is. This is what it takes to stand out from the crowd, to break through the clutter. And it’s the one thing most people aren’t doing — Over-delivering.
“You have a gorgeous opportunity to lead the field in everything that you do by doing one thing: practicing every single day the ritual of over-delivering.”— Robin Sharma
Don’t just give your customers what they want; give them 10x more than what they expect. Don’t just give your boss what they are expecting — Instead, show something that is so rare in today’s economy, initiative.
It is when you start over-delivering consistently, you’ll soon become indispensable to your company.
4. The Ritual Of Continuous Learning (Becoming A 60-Minute Student)
Details here: https://reasonstolivefor.com/60-minute-rule/
Bill Gates is famously known to read 50 books every single year. It’s a trait that many of the world’s super-performers share and an accurate predictor of your potential success.
However, do not limit yourself to just reading if you want to learn. Audio-books, podcasts, online courses, conferences and even the practice of journaling can be a powerful method to acquire new knowledge.
“Education is inoculation against disruption… As you know more, you can achieve more.”— Robin Sharma
The next step is commitment. Regardless of what is going in your life and no matter how busy you are, you must commit to at least 60-minutes a day to learning. And be sure to time-block into your schedule weekly schedule.
5. The Ritual Of Private Reflection
The final ritual Robin suggests we start bringing in into our lives that will greatly impact your future success is as simple as it is powerful. And it is the idea of private reflection.
Conclusion on How To Be Successful and Happy
Today, it is so easy to get lost in all the noise that we stop questioning about the things that actually matter
- What’s going on in your life at this moment?
- How are you doing professionally?
- Are you practicing what you preach?
- How do you want to remembered when you leave this world?
- What sort of impact do you want to create?
When you start integrating these rituals into your daily life, soon you will notice a completely new lifestyle. One that is not common these days and one that will set you apart from the majority!
What do you guys have to say about it? Do let me know in comments below😊
You immediately had me on the “Early Rising,” Danielle. I love the early mornings for many reasons. You make a great point, on how to spend those early hours. Prioritizing is always important. I do get lost in my odds and ends of reading and a couple of hours can just disappear. One of the most important rituals for me is “Private Reflection.” An excellent post filled with many gems! I have bookmarked. Thank you for sharing.
thanks for reading and appreciating! 😁
I already committed myself to learning for an hour daily, this article was quite timely. Taken up two free online courses.
I would definitely try time blocking and journaling.
Great article!
Thanks for reading for for the appreciation! 😊
These are all essential and cherished segments of my day. I’m glad to have read this and further sustain my belief that I’m doing some good for my body, soul and mind. Good article! Keep the momentum.
thanks for reading! 😊
I’m glad you included #5 about personal reflection. I have found that starting my day with God and reflecting on what His Word, the Bible, has to say to me, positively impacts the whole day. Such reflection has helped me deal with the disappointments and difficulties that inevitably arise. “We are considerably poorer if we do not take the time to be with God”–Leslie Williams, in her book, Night Wrestling.

This is gold. I think I am ticking off all of these boxes! Here I am up early, I have a bunch of books on the shelf next to me and I have about 3 on the go now, I meditate, exercise, and have a over-delivery mindset.
Anyone read the Seven Habits of Highly Effective People? Sums it all up rather well.
thanks for reading! 😊
This is helpful information. I do most of these things, but need to work on the strategic time blocking.
As a classic over-deliverer I do offer a word of caution, however. According to social psychologist Roy Baumeister in his book, The Power of Bad, people who are consistently good enough and keep their promises are happier than many over achievers. Baumeister touts what he calls the negative golden rule: it’s what you DON’T do unto others that matters most.
that is so true. thanks for reading! 😊
Great read! I had never seen things in this way, it switched a light on for me 😌 I love the idea of a “Blueprint for a beautiful week” Your post underlined for me the rituals which I do on a daily basis which sometimes others don’t appreciate 😊 I guess I need to give myself permission to continue ! Ps reading your post was part of the 60 minute 👩🎓
Have a great day!
Thanks for reading and for the appreciation 😊
This was a great post to help people try to get one step ahead in their life. Remaining focused on daily tasks. Becoming mindful of yourself and how you should remain in the present. I try to set at least 2 to 3 days a week to remain a student of myself and my work.
Staying mindful by meditation for 26 minutes a day. Even if it is broken into a few short sessions throughout the day. This will take practice, but well worth the time to refocus on yourself.
Thank you for the great post.
Thanks you for the appreciation and for sharing your experience 😊
Good points, I love it. I would like to put these point in action now but the only problem is I am fighting depressiona and some other illnesses, I feel this formula assumes perfect health conditions.
No it does not. and remember, every storm runs out of its rain. I hope you feel better soon! 🤗
I like this one hopes u can follow me back jeremydaily18
A morning ritual is so important to kick start your day for success. I agree with everything you have said. Great post.
Thanks for reading and for the appreciation! 😊
I was sold on the the ritual of over-delivering immediately. It’s something I often think about and strive for but this post is the first time I feel like those thoughts were put into understandable terms so many kudos to you on that! I also have to agree with protecting your time as I believe it’s essential to staying organized and getting things done efficiently!
Thanks for the appreciation! 😊
Beautiful
Thank you! 😊

Amazing 👌

Thank you! 😊
Number three really resonates with me. From a standpoint that by giving we will help the world to be a healthier place to live. Instead of asking “But what’s in it for me?” We should be seeking to answer the question “How can I help?” so we encourage more positive interaction and cooperation to build a world we want to live in.
Thank you once again for your words. 🙂
Thanks for reading and for the appreciation! 😊
Great Post. Love how you are basically rewarding yourself by being intentional with your time and attention. Essential rituals to gain perspective and then consequently take action towards success and happiness.
Take care
Thanks for reading! 😊
Thank you so much for this wonderful post. It was very insightful, and I couldn’t agree more. I have been waking up early to go for a walk or a run, and making more time for reading. is being successful alone better than having pure love?
depends on what you want from life. I have seen happy singles and miserable couples while being successful. So it is a very subjective thing
Amazing post..need of the hour..👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks for reading 😊
Pleasure is all mine 😊
Very interesting. The early mornings would be my biggest challenge.
Thanks for reading! 🙂

I really liked your post. I’ve been periodically trying out yoga and meditation and you have inspired me to add it to my schedule so it actually happens.
