Dear Readers of Pointless Overthinking,

I’m writing to make some important announcements.  But before I get to those, I want to thank all of you for being such wonderful readers and participants.  I can honestly say that I (and the other bloggers who write for PO) love interacting with you in the comments section of those pieces we publish here.  We are constantly inspired by your reactions.  In fact, many of your responses have helped trigger insights that then eventually led to the creation of new blog posts.      

I’ve always been amazed by the job Bogdan did when he created and grew this blog.  We now have nearly 16,000 followers.  That’s mostly Bogdan’s doing. 

In a recent email exchange, Bogdan and I came to a joint decision that I would take over the daily operations of the blog.  The two of us are in frequent contact, and I have long known that he is tired.  In addition to this blog, he has a real life and many other responsibilities.  I totally understand how he feels because I’ve been there, done that.

I am excited about this opportunity, and I get the feeling that the weight of the world has been lifted from his shoulders.

Pointless Overthinking is blessed to have a team of wonderfully talented writers.  We already have a lot of great things in place, but we also have plans to see if we can grow the blog in new and interesting ways.  In fact, I think there will be an opportunity for bloggers to join the team.  Please stay tuned for further announcements on this and other topics. 

I have a feeling you’re going to like Pointless Overthinking going forward.  We’re going to be the same but different.  Know what I mean?

  2. Kudos, Troy, and great photo! I am in the purgatory phase of self-publishing, and hope to be back in touch with you after the rush of launching the book sometime in November. I am so glad our paths crossed a while back, and I look forward to our next exchange of eccentric insights. 🙂 Congrats again!

    1. I’ve wondered about your whereabouts. Now I know. I look forward to us restarting our ongoing conversation. I hope your book turned out the way you wanted it to. A book is such an enormous and unwieldy project. Thanks for being part of PO.

    1. I sort of had Frost in mind, actually. It’s always great to hear from you. I always learn so much by your posts here. I’m almost certain that I benefit more from your comments than you benefit from my blogs. By the way, how is the “au natural” lifestyle treating you?

      1. Not very well recently. All the events I’d been looking forward to; Nude Art LA, World Naked Bike Ride LA, SF Bay to Breakers, Nude Comedy LA, the Naked Beer Mile, are all canceled. Certainly reasonable things to do but missing them is still unhappiful for me.

        College Of the Canyons and the local art classes are all closed. Limited online classes only. I had a figure modeling gig lined up. If COVID-19 had hit just a bit later I’d have started work and could claim benefits. (They are NOT about to have nude modeling on line. LOL!) Again, understandable.

        I think the resorts are starting very limited reopening but they are far away. Ditto Bates Beach. Hundred miles plus commute and then back again. Drove past the beach a week ago and it was insanely overrun with textile folks anyhow.

        That leaves the National forest for a small bit of freehiking. I was out there a few weeks ago.

        I don’t do triple digit weather. In order to find comfortable weather in this heatwave you have to get up into the mountains. Since COVID hit, those trails have become more crowded, Last couple of hikes were mostly clothed with some freehiking once I got away from the crowd. But that isn’t an option any more as the Southern California National Forests have been in a hard closure for several weeks. Large areas where I used to do my nude hikes are now charcoal and the rest are all closed for extreme fire danger.

        At least until the first rain of the fall, I’m shut down.

    2. What happened to your post on all the “au natural” events you’ve been missing due to the COVID-19 situation? I looked at it briefly, was getting ready to respond, and noticed it was gone. I thought it was the coolest comment I’d seen in a long time.

  5. Glad to hear of the focus on wellbeing, it’s really what this community is wonderful at realising and continuing to remind us about.

    New direction, but similar goals? I’m onboard and look forward to the future. 🔮

    1. We’ll be the same old website with the same kind of content. Websites, though, like people, have to grow and adapt or they stuck in ruts. One things is for certain: Bogdan will always recognize the site and we hope that he rejoins us and assumes whatever role he’d like to assume.

    1. I think Bogdan just needs a break and he’ll be back. If he only wants to write, he is always encouraged to contribute. Bogdan is a great person who touched the lives of many and encouraged a great number of people, including me.

      1. Thanks. Sadly, Mum is back on regular art, as art class has re-started with set assignments. Currently she’s working on an Autumnal landscape using water colours. I think she’s enjoying it though.
